The great 20th century sculptor Ernst Barlach lived and worked in Güstrow. Two museums in the town show the greatest collection of his works anywhere. This museum is the Atelierhaus – the house in which Barlach lived and worked. It has been restored and reopened following his death in 1938. It displays many of his works, both in sculpture, graphics and written. Most poignant, however, are the works left unfinished when he died, which are on display. There is an entrance fee. Museum open year-round.
