Hannover’s Christ Church (Kreuzkirche) is situated in the Altstadt area of the city. It was built from 1333, and later modified in the late 15th century. Sadly it was largely destroyed in a storm in 1630 and later rebuilt. Again, in World War 2 the building was reduced to a shell, and rebuilt in the late 1950s. Today it serves a Serbian community in the city. It has a triumphal tower with a green spire. Inside is a Passion Triptych by Lucas Cranach on the high altar.
