The neo-Renaissance Börse building in Frankfurt houses the DAX stock exchange. It was designed by Heinrich Burnitz and Oskar Sommer, and opened in 1879. Frankfurt has had a stock exchange since 1558, and the current building has been used for the purpose since 1957. It is open to the public for viewing the action, and outside are statues of the Bull and the Bear, along with a café bar which is popular with the stock brokers.
