Berger Straβe runs for 2 miles to the north east of Frankfurt city centre, through the heart of Bornheim. This is a favourite area for Frankfurt residents to escape the city, with a more relaxed atmosphere and plenty of amenities to enjoy. The charming area of Bornheim was once a separate village, incorporated into Frankfurt in 1877 as the city expanded. Along Berger Straβe you will find plenty of good cafes, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, not to mention unique shops, boutiques and arty types. As the area was spared bombing in World War 2, many of the buildings are amongst the oldest in Frankfurt.
