Bäckerstrasse is one of Hameln’s most pleasant and interesting streets. It leads away from the Market Square and features many fine original buildings. One of the most important buildings is the Löwenapothek – a Gothic building which is still in use as a pharmacy to this day. Also on the street is the Rattenkrug and Leisthaus – both formerly homes to wealthy citizens of the town. You will also find various cafes and shops along the street.
