The water tower in the centre of Dachau was built in 1910 and provided water for the town for almost 60 years. Left to rot and ruin, the tower became dilapidated and was finally restored in 1998 to its present condition. Today the water tower is the site of many cultural events in Dachau, such as readings, exhibitions, music concerts and theatre.
