The Urweltmuseum Oberfranken in Bayreuth is an exhibition of rare finds from the Upper Franconia area. Most notable amongst its collections are rare dinosaur bones, and some fossilised plants from 200 million years ago, when the region was a tropical river delta. The museum occasionally features temporary exhibits and collections from other museums. There is a small entrance fee. It is situated opposite the Altes Schloss palace, and instantly recognised by the large dinosaur model outside.
