The Tiergarten is Berlin’s largest open space of parkland. The former hunting grounds of the Prussian princes were converted into a park with English landscape inspiration in 1818. Statues were added and many embassies were located here before the war – some of which are rebuilding today. Tiergarten famously hosts the Loveparade once a year, as well as occasional rock concerts. Berliners love to relax in the park and many tourists enjoy strolling there in fine weather. The seat of the German federal president is located in Schloss Bellevue, in the centre of the park.
