The dominant church in Bad Wildungen is the town’s Stadtkirche. This can be seen over the rooftops, with its tall tower. It’s really worth stepping inside to see the winged altar, which is by the artist Conrad von Soest. It is one of the best 15th century painted altars in Germany. It narrates the life of Jesus over 13 panels. The church is open daily, and welcomes visitors to look around. Services are held at weekends and other published times.
