The Schnütgen Museum is located inside a former church (St. Cecilia’s) in Cologne city centre. Its collection includes a magnificent array of religious and ecclesiastical artifacts, some of which are incredibly old. These include some fantastic tapestries and sculptures, and 3,500 fabrics. The collection was originally that of Alexander Schnütgen, whom the museum is named after. The church building housing the collection is a Romanesque example.
