The New Castle, or Neues Schloss in Bayreuth was built from 1753 by Joseph Saint-Pierre for Margravine Wilhelmine following a fire in the old castle. The Italian wing was added in 1759. Most of the interior and all its rooms have kept their original décor and furnishings, which makes a visit a wonderful eye to the past. In the ground floor is the exhibition of countess Magravine Wilhelmine of Bayreuth. Other areas worth seeing are the music room, with its wood panelling and original instruments.
