The Musical Instrument Museum in Berlin is located on the Kulturforum. It is located inside an interesting building which covers 32,000 square feet of exhibition space over three floors. The museum serves as a research institution as well as a museum. There are 3,000 instruments in the collection, ranging from the 16th century to the present. Items of particular interest are the 1810 piano of composer Carl Maria von Weber and a 1703 Antonio Stradivarius violin. All sorts of wooden and stringed and percussion instrument collections can be browsed, with CD listening stations to hear their sound.
