The Market Place in central Bernkastel Kues is like something from a tourist brochure – which might explain the number of tourists visiting in the summer. On this lovely square you will find the Renaissance Rathaus, or Town Hall building, which is similarly picture-perfect. A half timbered building next door, known as the Spitzhäuschen is incredibly narrow and tall. The square has a number of cafes and shops in the vicinity. It is best seen when the tourist throngs disappear.
