The Landesmuseum, or state museum for history in Bückeburg has existed since 1905. It is located in the Schaumburger Yard in the centre of the town, which was built in 1564 and is a wonderful gabled building. The museum has archaeological, collections from the region. It also goes into details of the former trades of shoe makers, printers and textiles. The history are goes into detail of the town’s past and its famous artists, royalty, scholars and musicians. There is a small entry fee.
