The Kulturforum is an area of cultural sites in the centre of Berlin close to Potsdamer Platz. The complex includes music halls and museums on an area that was earmarked by Hitler’s architect Albert Speer after the bombs of World War 2. The area centres around the Matthäikirche from 1846, which was the only pre-war building to survive. On the site are Museum of Modern Art, Gemäldegalerie, Museum of Decorative Arts, Musical Instrument Musuem, Museum of Graphic Art, Philharmonic Hall, State Library, and the Ibero-American Institute amongst others. A Museum Pass is available for visitors.
