Königsallee is Düsseldorf’s main thoroughfare which dates from the 19th century, and often referred to locally as the ‘Ko’. It is Dusseldorf’s main shopping street, with many chic and designer boutiques stretched along its length. There are also many banks and offices here, and a couple of significant buildings – including the Jugenstil Kaufhaus store, and the Wilhelm-Marx-Haus dating from the 1920s. Königsallee was modernised in the 20th century, and an underground station added for ease of access.
