Andernach’s City Museum (Stadtmuseum) is located in the Haus von der Leyen. This was a former patrician’s mansion in the town, built in the 16th century. It is a beautiful Renaissance style building. The museum houses various special exhibitions each year covering the history of the town, its people and events in its past. Posters outside indicate the current displays. Often there are items on display from the town’s past. The museum is open most days and has a small entrance fee.
