The German Masonic Museum in Bayreuth is situated off the Hofgarten park, near to the Neues Schloss and Richard Wagner Museum. It was founded in 1741, and opened in this former Masonic lodge house in 1902. It is the leading museum in Germany on the topic, and has grown from being a simple collectors’ museum into a comprehensive overview of Freemasonry, with one of the largest collections of memorabilia and items in the world. It is open limited hours, but most days.
