Friedrichstrasse is one of the best-preserved streets of Bayreuth’s old town. Along it are many old Baroque mansions and palaces formerly used as homes by court officials and other well-known locals. Also along the street you will find Bayreuth’s first university building at no. 15, and an orphanage at no. 14. The Reiterhalle is the former margravial riding hall and is now the Stadthalle, which is used for exhibitions. Jean-Paul-Platz is also a lovely square on Friedrichstrasse.
