The beautiful French Cathedral in Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt square pre-dates the German Cathedral by three years, opening in 1705. It was built by Huguenot. The dome and porticos were added in 1785. Inside the Huguenot Museum tells the history of the Huguenot family, who arrived in Berlin after fleeing France, and shows artefacts such as paintings and family items. The dome of the cathedral is open to the public, with access via a stairwell and giving panoramic views over the city.
