Although Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer, he died in Bayreuth in 1886. His daughter was married to Bayreuth-based German composer Richard Wagner. A short distance from the Wagner Museum is the Franz Liszt Museum, which is the house in which he lived his final days. The museum is dedicated to his life and works, showcasing many of his achievements. It has restored some of the rooms as they were when he lived here, and also includes instruments such as his piano on display.
