The Film Museum Berlin on Potsdamer Platz serves to celebrate and show off the film history of the city, which is known as the Hollywood of Germany. The permanent exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the film history, from silent films and the Weimar Republic, to cinema under Nazi rule, contemporary cinema, and a large focus on Germany’s favourite star Marlene Dietrich. There is also a permanent exhibition on television, showing great moments in Germany’s broadcasting history and how it has developed through war and the East/West divide.
