Dorotheenstädtischer Cemetery is the final resting place of many famous Berlin residents. It was established in 1762 and contains the graves and elaborate tombstones of people such as Fichte, Hegel, Schinkel (he designed the gravestone himself), Stüler, Borsig, Heiner Müller (complete with cigars, left as a final farewell gesture), Gottfried Schadow, Litfaß, Heinrich Mann, Brecht, Helene Weigel, Anna Seghers, John Heartfield, Arnold Zweig, Johannes R. Becher, Hanns Eisler, and Hans Mayer. Visitors can also see the French cemetery, which was created for the Huguenot community in 1780. It contains the graves of Ludwig Devrient, Peter Luis Ravené and Daniel Chodowiecki.
