As an extension to the Dom (Cathedral) attraction in Cologne, the Diocesan Museum (Erzbischöfliches Diözesanmuseum) can be found close to the St. Kolumba church nearby. This is another museum of treasures held by the Cologne diocese. On display are items such as the Madonna of the Violets by Lochner, an 11th century crucifix, the St. Severin Medallion and a 6th century silk. There is also a pleasing collection of modern art on display. This new building is a good home for the museum, which is open most days for a small admission fee.
