Diessen is located around the Ammersee lake from Andechs, and reached by a train. Its main attraction is the Augustinian Kloster (convent). The church at the convent is considered to be one of Bavaria’s finest. It is a fine example of a Rococo building, and situated on a hill overlooking the village and lake. Inside, of note is the high altar and the frescoes on the ceiling by Johann Georg Bergmuller. The community of nuns hold regular worship, which can be seen if you time your visit right.
