The Kultur- und Stadthistorisches Museum, or Culture and City History Museum in Duisburg is located in a former industrial mill and warehouse in the centre of the town, close to the Town Hall. It displays all manner of items on the history of the town, including archaeological finds and a lot of information on the industrial history. It also has a large exhibition on Gerhard Mercator, who lived in Duisburg from 1552 and was famous for pioneering accurate flat maps for navigation. There is a small entry fee for the museum.
