Burghausen’s City Museum (Stadtmusuem) is located along the hill from the castle (still part of the same complex), overlooking the river. It covers the history of the town from its beginnings to the present. There are exhibitions on the people, folklore, religion, buildings and life in the town. It also covers the history of the castle. The museum is set over four floors. Special exhibitions are held through the year. There is an entrance fee to the museum. It is open year-round.
