Situated on the shore of Lake Starnberg is the Buchheim Museum, also known as the Museum der Phantasie. It was set up by Lothar-Günther-Buchheim – the author of the famous book Das Boot, and the subsequent film screenplay. As a collector of art and published works, this museum evolved to exhibit this collection. Visitors will see many expressionist paintings from around the world, and many illustrations and writings. The building is also worth visiting for.
