Schloss Arolsen is the main sight in Bad Arolsen. This large Baroque palace was built between 1713 and 1728 and designed by Julius Ludwig Rothweil. The von Waldeck family occupied the residence. Today the building is open to the public, where the restored rooms are a fantastic insight into the life of the family 200 years ago. Outside the palace is a monument to Emperor Wilhelm. The palace’s gardens are also open to the public, which again are restored to their original style.
