Berlin’s Alte Nationalgalerie is the city’s main museum for 19th century art and sculpture. It is located on the famous Museumsinsel island and covers three floors of exhibitions. On display are works from the great painters, sculptors, including Jakob Philipp Hackert’s landscapes, Anton Graff’s portraits and a collection by German artists working in Rome. There are impressionistic paintings by Manet, Monet, Renoir and Rodin amongst others. And to top it all off, sculptures by Johann Gottfried Schadow, Berthel Thorwaldsen, Reinhold Begas and Schinkel
