The Black Forest town of Alpirsbach centres around its old Kloster, or monastery. This dates to the 12th century, although it is now abandoned. The Klosterkirche is the main attraction. This church is now the town’s Protestant parish church, and includes both Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance features. It has a single tower and an interesting chancel. Guided tours are available of the church and site for a fee. The former cloisters are also used for concerts in the summer months. See listings around town.
